As previously reported Wentworthville Public School Parents & Citizens Association requires YOUR support NOW!!!!
Over the past 2 weeks I have received enquiries from a further 5 families in regards to supporting YOUR P & C. This is an increase from 0.02 % to 0.04 % of families of our entire school community.
As a result the P & C will be holding crisis meeting on
WED 1 APRIL, 7.30pm
Staffroom, School office block.
This will be your FINAL opportunity to support YOUR P & C Association to form an active committee in order to continue its operations as it has done for so many years.
Should we be unable to form a complying committee then action shall be commenced to wind –up Wentworthville Public School P & C Association.
Please consider the impact this will have on YOUR CHILD.
No P & C = No uniform shop
No P & C = No additional resources
No P & C = loss of an avenue for parents to discuss happenings, changes & events within the school
No P & C = no canteens at sports carnivals
I ask again for ALL community members to consider YOUR ability to support
WENTWORTHVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOL P & C ASSOCIATION

P & C Day
The Federation of Parents and Citizens’ Association of New South Wales would like to announce the annual P&C Day, Wednesday March 4th 2009.
“We wish to congratulate local P&C’s on their achievements in supporting their school and Public Education and encourage school communities to make the time to celebrate this day” says Dianne Giblin, President of the Federation of Parents and Citizens’ Associations of New South Wales
“Members of P&C Associations work tirelessly in support of Public Schools in New South Wales” claims Mrs. Giblin, “their efforts are student centered, and focused on ensuring that the children in Public Schools receive quality education”
Members participate in many ways to support their local school; on school committees, merit selection panels, policy development and reviews, school promotion, uniform shops, canteens and fundraising. It is estimated that P&C’s have raised in excess of $54 million over the past twelve months.
Mrs. Giblin notes “Fundraising aside, P&C members dedicate countless volunteer hours to participate in a partnership that sees schools and their community working side by side.”
The partnership between schools and their communities has proven invaluable. Schools should be reflective of their local communities and their expectations and values. P&C Associations are a true reflection of real communities. They promote diversity, uniqueness and inclusiveness while working towards better futures for all students in public education. Great school communities offer our children greater futures, something which we would all agree is an investment in Australia’s future.
It would be a great shame should Wentworthville Public School loose its P & C …..
